Surgery to change appearances

A man from Mississippi who had suffered injuries in his face, that was burned during an attempt of saving a woman he thought was trapped in the blaze, underwent a facial transplant in August. His name is Patrick Hardison and he was a volunteer firefighter. The burns he suffered were of third degree and were covering his entire scalp.

The surgeons spent 26 hours completing the operation. This operation is an historic one because nothing like that had never happened before, there were transplants yet, but not with this ammont of tissue transplanted in Patrik's face. The surgeons reached to remove all the scars and give to Patrik's face a normal appearance.

The operation has been a success, but the patient had waited more than a year on a donor register. It was difficult to find someone with the same blood type and with fair skin and light hair. The donor was a 26-year-old, David Rodebaugh, who died in a cycling accident.

Now Patrik has a new face, but he will have to take immunosuppressant drugs for the rest of his life so his body does not reject the donor's face

OPINION:
I think the majority of the surgery opperations are not necessari and nothing important, but in this case, I think it's a very useful thing and I also think that surgery would have to be only used in this cases.
The fact of have someone else's face has to be so weird, I don't thing if he will get used to it some day.
I also think that it is a great success for technology and it's nice that this had happened with this man because he was so courageousit's a good thing what happened with that courageous sacrificing his face to protect another person.
